Facilities

Our school is home to a broad range of excellent facilities. These include a brand new Discovery Center, which houses our new state of the art Library, Visual Arts room, and STEM room, our senior building which consists of five large, heated state of the art classrooms – along with a communal area, our new Administration building, which includes our Performing Arts room, OSHC room, and School Hall, surrounded by spacious grounds, a beautiful undercover area with artificial grass and fairy garden. Students are able to practise their skills over our new basketball/netball courts, as well as practise their football skills with our football goal posts and soccer goals. Our school boasts five playground equipment/play space areas which are very popular with our students.

Our secure, dedicated Prep playground is overlooked by a beautiful mural, painted by students from La Trobe University, depicting our beautiful surroundings of Gresswell Forest and a view of Melbourne City. Our students enjoy our beautiful school grounds, and all three of our playgrounds, during school days and after school, as well as during the weekends and school holidays. We will often find families enjoying our grounds having biked or walked together from around our neighbourhood. We are proud of our well maintained grounds and playground areas, which are covered by shade sails, allowing sunsafe play all year round. Our large sandpit area is a popular play area for our junior students, as they further their imagination.

We are very excited that construction is completed on our new $3.2 million Admin building and our $2.8 million Discovery Centre! Our Admin building includes our Before & After School room, Performing Arts room, and our large School Hall which houses our weekly assemblies, parent information evenings, Exhibition evenings, and indoor Physical Education lessons (when wet). Our Discovery Centre (“DC”) houses our beautiful state of the art library, STEM and Visual Arts classrooms, as well as fresh new toilets for our students.

Our welcoming signage is displayed at each entry point of our school, along with our colourful bollards, which match our many beautiful murals we have around our school. You’ll even see several hand-painted & created pieces of artwork.

Our Visual Arts Centre is constantly changing with new and awe-inspiring displays of artwork created by our students. We proudly display our students’ artwork throughout our school, which is specifically showcased at our bi-annual Art Exhibition. The Bundoora Primary ‘gallery’ also extends to the exterior of our buildings in the form of murals and special tiles, created as parting gifts from our departing Year 6 students.

Our Library has an extensive range of books and study materials that students are able to refer to and borrow during their dedicated library sessions. Our book supplies are refreshed at various times throughout the year to allow our students to continue to be engaged and excited about reading. Colourful tables and chairs are kept in our library, as well as colourful comfortable cushions, to keep our students relaxed and content during their reading time.

During the warmer months, you may see classes being conducted, for a short time, outside beneath the warmth of the sunshine and amongst our beautiful gardens.

We have a well equipped First Aid room. All Bundoora Primary staff members have Level 2 First Aid Training with current CPR and Anaphylaxis certification.

Our Canteen is open each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and provides the Bundoora Primary School community with a great range of healthy lunches and snacks, which includes freshly prepared hot and cold food. The canteen also provides opportunity for parent/carer volunteers to be involved in the school. We also offer special ‘treat’ days each term, such as Hot Cross Bun Day, Pasta Day, and Footy Day.
