Our Visual Arts Program is a wonderful way for our students to explore their creative sides, with the help of our very talented Visual Arts Teacher, Mrs Nikki Rhodes. Mrs Rhodes is a wonderfully talented artist and has a beautiful way of conducting her classes in order for the students to develop their artistic abilities. Students’ artwork is proudly displayed throughout our school, as well as being exhibited during our biannual art exhibition.
We are thrilled with our creations we prepared for this year’s Arty Farty Festival in Heidleberg. We felt such pride when the announcement was made that our school won “Best School” with our contribution in the Arty Farty Parade on Sunday 22nd March. Our students, parents, and staff enjoyed the parade down Burgundy Street, showing off their costumes, handmade large prop items, while singing with the guidance of our wonderful Performing Arts Teacher, Nerida Newell. Our very talented Visual Arts Teacher, Nikki Rhodes, was overwhelmed with the abundance of enthusiasm from our students and parents as they carried items to link with the Parade’s theme of “Great Moments in History” and to particularly coincide with our school’s “Great Artists in History” theme for the event. Our Bundoora Primary School choir were brilliant as they performed on the main stage and sang beautifully. Well done to all of our students, parents and staff for putting in such wonderful efforts to make this event such a success!
We were very excited to announce that some of our students’ artwork were chosen to be exhibited in the Zart Art Student Gallery, Box Hill, which was held in 2012/2013. Our students were asked to depict their version of George Braque’s musical instrument artwork, using watercolours and collage, and also Monet’s Flowers using oil pastels, scratched textures and blended colour. The artwork produced demonstrates the talent of our students and the quality of our Visual Arts Program.
