Students have the opportunity to tap into their “theatrical” side during Performing Arts lessons. Through dance, instruments, drama and singing students can express their creativity, their imagination and musical flair. Our very talented Performing Arts teacher, Mrs Newell, plays several instruments and has been performing on stage, including regularly in her own band, since she was a child. Mrs Newell supports our students through music, drama and song, and prepares them well in developing their artistic, musical and theatrical opportunities.
Students also enjoy rehearsing and performing at our bi-annual whole School Concert. Further Performing Arts opportunities include being part of our School Band and School Choir which performs at “Schools of Rock” each year, as well as local preschools, shopping plazas and for local community audiences. Regular performances at our School Assemblies shows audiences what students have been learning in Performing Arts, as well as instrument and School Choir/Band performances.

Classes continued during isolation home learning, with students uploading their work for Mrs Newell to view. Students have done a wonderful job continuing their Performing Arts lessons online (see photos below)! Here, one of our Year 6 students, created her own music through musiclab (click here).
