Building Progress

Over the course of the last few years, our school has been lucky enough to be included in the State Government Schools Major Capital Works package to update school grounds and facilities. We have, so far, received funding for and built a new Admin building, which houses our Performing Arts Centre, OSHC facilities, administration offices, staff room and a large school hall, which is where we hold our weekly assemblies, inside Physical Education lessons (during wet weather), and school activities.  This building was completed at the beginning of 2019.

The next stage of funding our school received allowed us to build our Discovery Centre. This state of the art building is home to our STEM classroom, our Visual Arts classroom, and our Library – hence the title “Discovery Centre”. The rear of this building backs out onto our school oval, with room, just prior to the grassed area, for an undercover area allowing our students a breakout area to continue their learning outside. This has been a fantastic way for our STEM and Visual Arts programs to further explore the outside environment.

To complete our Major Capital Building Works, Stage 3 commenced late-August 2021, which will provide 14 new classrooms, as well as a Food Technology Centre. We hope to have this building complete by the end of 2022.

As well, our school has received funding to refurbish our existing BER building, affectionately named “The Palace” by students when it was originally built in 2010. This funding will include repainting inside and outside the building, new carpet and cabinetry.

Once Stage 3 is complete, our students will enjoy brand new classrooms, with state of the art specialist facilities, to enhance the learning programs here at Bundoora Primary School.
