Visual Arts Program

Our Visual Arts Program is a wonderful way for our students to explore their creative sides. Student artwork is proudly displayed throughout our school and at our biannual art exhibition. The exhibition gives students the opportunity to showcase artwork to family, friends and the community.

Our Visual arts teacher, Mrs Allibon, has extremely creative ideas, which flows through to her lessons, helping our students continue to be engaged and enthusiastic at each lesson, freely developing their artistic abilities.

Our students pride themselves on their artwork, with each individual ability celebrated. Our Visual Arts Program builds a greater understanding of art concepts. Students engage with historical and contemporary art, artistic elements and processes. Mediums such as colour, line, texture, shape, and space are explored. Art Club gives students time to continue their creative expression outside the classroom.

Students have depicted their version of George Braque’s musical instrument artwork using watercolours and collage, as well as Monet’s Flowers using oil pastels, scratched textures and blended colour. The artwork produced by our students demonstrates their talent and the quality of our Visual Arts Program. We are so proud to have some students exhibit their artwork in the Zart Art Student Gallery, Box Hill.

The Arty Farty Festival in Heidelberg is an annual event in the Visual Arts calendar. We were proud to receive the “Best School” award recently for our parade contribution. Students, parents, and staff take part in the parade, showing off creative costumes and handmade large prop items.
